We suggest rinsing them thoroughly whenever removed and cleaning them with Invisalign crystals provided and a soak in peroxide solution for 30 minutes a day. Do not use colored soaps, toothpastes, or aggressive cleaning agents that may discolor or compromise your aligners. Always rinse completely before placing aligners back in your mouth to remove any residual cleaning solution.
Contact our office immediately if your aligner becomes lost or damaged. Based on your current wear time, we’ll determine whether you should advance to your next set or temporarily revert to your previous aligners while awaiting a replacement. Never independently decide to skip to a new aligner set, as this could disrupt your carefully planned treatment sequence.
Remove aligners when consuming any beverage except water. Heated liquids risk warping the aligner material, while pigmented drinks including coffee, tea, red wine, and dark sodas can permanently stain the plastic, compromising their invisible appearance. Additionally, sugar-containing beverages trapped against teeth by aligners significantly elevate cavity risk. If you must take a quick drink with aligners in, rinse thoroughly with water immediately afterward.
